About the Michigan Guardianship Association

MGA is a statewide association dedicated to education, advocacy, collaboration, and the advancement of best practices in guardianship and protective services.

The Michigan Guardianship Association brings together individuals and organizations committed to serving vulnerable individuals with knowledge, integrity, and care. Through education, legislative involvement, and professional connection, MGA helps support those working in guardianship and related fields throughout Michigan.

Promoting Responsible Guardianship Across Michigan

MGA supports the advancement of guardianship through legislative reform, licensure efforts, education, and the promotion of best practices. The association advocates that guardianship should be used as a last resort and that less restrictive alternatives should be considered whenever possible.

Our work is rooted in the belief that vulnerable individuals deserve thoughtful protection, informed decision-making, and systems that prioritize their dignity, safety, and well-being.
